Diploma Policy of Yamaguchi University (Graduate School Program)

?Yamaguchi University aims to enable students to Discover, Grow, and Create, and become members of society who can serve the region, Japan, and the world, in accordance with the principles set out in the Yamaguchi University charter. To achieve this goal, Yamaguchi University has established the following three educational objectives which students must achieve in order to graduate and receive a degree in a graduate program.

1. High levels of Expertise and Academic Knowledge
?Students in Master¡¯s Programs are expected to be able to solve problems using logic and critical thinking, along with the highly specialized expertise and in-depth academic knowledge required of researchers and other specialists.

?Students in Doctoral Programs are expected to be able to solve problems using logic and critical thinking, applying the highly specialized expertise, research skills, and wealth of academic knowledge required of independent researchers and other specialists.

?Students in Professional Degree Programs are expected to be able to solve problems using logic and critical thinking, along with the advanced expertise and in-depth academic knowledge required of highly specialized professionals.

2. Well-Rounded Education
?Our students are expected to gain a well-rounded education, learning to think flexibly and consider things from many points of view.

3. Autonomy, Collaboration, and the Ability to Turn Ideas into Reality
?With strong ethics and a sense of autonomy, students are expected to work with others to combine their highly specialized expertise and academic knowledge to bring their ideas to life
